a slice from the new inside covers for Papercutter #2, a quarterly anthology put out by my friend Greg at Tugboat Press. This was darkened and light effects were added in Photoshop, see the original below.

I also uploaded the inside cover.

You could do pulp mystery book covers or something... this is super rad.

your sister in law reminds you that her birthday was last week and she reeeaaallllly likes this one. this would look really nice framed.

happy birthday jamie! unfortunately, this isn't a good representation of what the original looks like. it's much lighter and doesn't have the "fuzzy white spots" -- i just didn't have the patience to layer on enough ink wash to make it this dark.

both of these have a bit of photoshopping going on -- basically i just darkened them and flattened the contrast a bit, then added a few fuzzy white spots for light effect.

See the above comment -- sadly, the originals aren't quite as snazzy. Here's what they look like: (& they're ink washes, not watercolor..)

your not giving yourself enough credit! those both would look awesome framed on my wall!

well they weren't meant to be framed, the first (w/ papercutter in it) is much nicer as a stand-alone piece, but still.. i thought about making them frameable (ie: dark and w/ hand-done lighting effects) as i was drawing it, but just said fuckit and went the lazy route.
