When I was a kid, I used to think that those things were big bass drums stuck up on poles. I thought that somebody took a drum from a marching band and stuck it up there, and if you could get to it with a stick, you could make it go "boom boom boom." Hah! But I also used to think that the air conditioners people propped up outside their windows were really tollbooths with coins in them. I was a weird kid.
